Buddy Benches are being installed on SVUSD elementary campuses thanks to the generous and caring spirit of Isabel Perez, 2017-2018 6th grader at Huachuca Mountain Elementary School. Isabel wanted to help the children who were alone and isolated on the school playground. 
 
Buddy Benches are meant to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on school playgrounds by offering a specific place for children who are feeling lonely to go during recess.  Children seeing someone sitting on the buddy bench know they can be a good friend/ citizen by going to the lonely student and inviting them to join in on recess activities or just sit and talk.
 
The Education Foundation of Sierra Vista (EFofSV) supports the Elementary Buddy Bench Program through your generous donations.  Your donation is tax deductible but does NOT qualify for Arizona Tax Credit.
